In Memory

Denise McFeeters (Steffen)

Denise died April 23, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Although her health was failing, Denise came to the 25th reunion and was able to visit with many.  The below photos are from the 20th class reunion.

May you rest in peace Denise

I remember re-connecting with Denise at Janna's 40th surprise birthday party after many years of randomly keeping in touch. Not too long after that she discovered she was sick. I can hardly speak for what she went through as I wasn't close to her at the time but towards the end of her illness she had a group of girlfriends that came to stay with her each day of the week and I was blessed to be a part of that. She was incredibly strong and so anchored in her faith. Wayne, her husband and her kids and her mom were so good to all of us that tried to help out. Denise Scott-Drescher was such an example of friendship and strength and whenever I think of Denise, (which is so often) I always think of Denise S. True pals forever. As sad as it was to be involved in the heartache of her death, I wouldn't have given up those few weeks of her friendship for anything in the world. She is and always will be missed by a lot of her old girlfriends. How lucky were we to have Denise in our lives.

I agree with you Dana very much. Stacee Harp and I went to visit Denise and it was just very heart-wrenching what she went through! Seeing her husband and her kids staying by her side and Denise trying the best that she could to stay positive through it all was really more than I could take. It is so hard to explain why some things happen and I have read a good many books on suffering and God and I still don't really understand. I have said many prayers for her and her family and I haven't really heard how they are doing lately, but I would sure like to know.

What a shock as I found this website and found out that Denise has left us..... what a great friend in school. my 'date' for the freshman prom and my partner as we walked in graduation... I think we tried to 'date' once.. but we were just to good of friends to play that game in school... always a true friend and so sad we lost touch..... Rest in peace and my prayers for her family... Denise was a great person...I learned of her passing shortly after my brother passed away with cancer in October 24, 2007. Denise was my cousin on my mothers side of the Ramsey family. We lost touch after graduation 1979, you always think there will be more time, then you realize that's not so. God bless her husband and kids!
